On Monday I visited the Fishergate Centre to be their first ‘Blogger of the month’. As part of the title I had to pick some of my favourite pieces of occasion wear from the shops available in the centre. I’m very much a second-hand shopper and as I’m doing the #CheapNChicChallenge this month I hadn’t ventured into the high street shops for weeks , so seeing all the new season collections was really exciting. The Fishergate has a great range of shops inside to suit every budget & occasion, hence their new mission statement ‘You’ll find it at Fishergate’
First stop was Coast which I have to admit, isn’t my usual go-to as it’s a little out of my budget. They had some beautiful lace detailed tops & skirts but the stand-out piece for me was this gorgeous pink tutu dress which is exclusive to Coast in Debenhams. It’s a 1950s style with the prom style bodice and layers of net & it made me feel amazing! I love a vintage style piece & the bright raspberry pink is one of my favourite colours. I teamed it with a complementary statement necklace with cute little pink gems. Occasion: I’ve not been to any weddings this year but I think this dress is a fun & flattering shape. Perfect for busting some moves on the dance floor. Zhari Dress Raspberry £125 Alfonso Necklace £35
My second outfit is from Primark. I have a love/hate relationship with Primark, as they have some great pieces but I it’s likely that you’ll spot the same outfit a few times when you’re out! After looking around a lot of dresses we found this adorable, scalloped, polka dot two- piece. I’ve never actually worn ‘co-ords’ so I was keen to give this trend a go plus I’m a massive polka dot fan. Upstairs I found the statement coral shoes to pair it with, plus a nude coloured camisole underneath so it didn’t look too fussy with the polka dots. Occasion: I’ve been going to a few networking events recently & people are always dressed quite formally. I think this little suit is a fun twist on the traditional suit. Primark Polka Dot Blazer, Polka Dot Shorts, Coral Heels and Nude Camisole
The third outfit is from Roman. This is a fairly new addition to the Fishergate centre. I thought for this outfit I’d choose something a bit more dramatic. I went for this slinky maxi dress with the embellished waist-line plus the really cute fringed cardigan to pair it with. I felt very 1920s and sophisticated. The cardigan made me feel like a flapper girl! The snake effect clutch is very chic too, I love the bracelet detailing & you have the option of wearing it over the shoulder too. Maxi Dress: £30 Tassled Cardigan: £35 Bag: £12 Occasion: Definitely an outfit for a fancier occasion such as a ball or black tie event.
The final outfit was from TKMaxx one of my favourite shops. They always have a great range of evening dresses & this one didn’t fail to disappoint. It’s a show stopper! I love a sequinned dress especially in winter. Again this one felt very Great Gatsby but that’s a style I really love. This dress had such intricate beading & sequins that it felt really premium, as always in TKMaxx it was a bargain for under £50. The black clutch & shoes finish the outfit off without detracting from the dress. Occasion: Perfect for a Christmas party (yes I am thinking that far ahead!) Dress: Picasso nights £49.99 Clutch bag: Jaclin £9.99 Heels: Bebo £16.99

Bored of the same old workwear? Tired of the black pantsuit and white shirt combo? We hear you! At Fishergate, we have a huge array of brands that stock office appropriate pieces that are bang on trend. Transform your work look with a pop of colour or a pretty print. Swap black blazers for statement patterned numbers and team them with basics for a smart yet bold look. Do you feel a bit deflated when it comes to lunch time? Does a pasty or a meal deal just not cut it anymore? I fell into the ‘working in town’ lunch break trap but I’ve made it my mission to eat healthier, save money & really enjoy my lunch! If you fancy adding a bit of excitement to your lunch hour then head down to The Fishergate Centre & stock up on some lunch box essentials J
Happy Jackson Mini Food Boxes: I saw these in Debenhams the other day & I can’t get over how cute they are! Perfect for bring some healthier snacks to work. My favourite, easy-peasy, nutritious snacks are:
-Greek yogurt, sliced banana & a drizzle of honey
-Almonds & pistachios
-Salted tortilla chips
-Carrot sticks & hummus
Rose & Butler Travel Mug: There is nothing better than having a hot drink on your commute to work. It’s a pretty expensive habit to have a Starbucks pumpkin spice soy latte every day of the week though so investing in a travel mug is a good compromise for days when the purse strings are tight! This Rose & Butler one is really cute with the ‘Today is a good day’ motto on the front. TKMaxx usually have a great selection of exotic teas & coffees too so it’s well worth checking out the food isle.
Magic Bullet: You all know how I feel about a good morning smoothie! This magic bullet from Argos is perfect for busy people on the go. Just add your ingredients, whizz it up and the blender turns into a travel mug -genius! You can also use it for making soups too, perfect for boosting your fruit & veggie intake.
Black & Blum Filter Water Bottle As part of my eco-mission I’ve been avoiding buying bottled water. I have saved loads of money plus drinking tap water is much better for you. This drinks bottle from TKMaxx has a natural filter system inside if you prefer the taste of filtered water.
Fruit Flakes Yogurt Coated Raisins These are one of my favourite snacks at the moment. If you fancy something sweet but don’t want to wolf down a chocolate bar keep a few packets of these in your bag. You can get them from Poundland & they’re perfect for kids too.
Kallo Organic Rice Cakes Okay I know rice cakes aren’t the most exciting thing in the world but these ones are organic & only £1! You can create so many delicious toppings-sweet or savoury. A personal favourite is the Lotus biscotti spread from Poundland, I guess it kinda defeats the object of a ‘healthy’ snack if you smother it with liquidised biscuits but it’s too good.
