90s photos of Fishergate Shopping Centre

Cast your mind back to the 1990s and a time when shopping trips were soundtracked by the bleeps and bloops of early arcade games and the enticing aroma of freshly-made donuts. Thanks to a collection of exclusive retro pictures courtesy of the Lancashire Evening Post, we’re taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane to explore Fishergate Shopping Centre in all its 90s glory.

But it wasn’t all about retail therapy. The pictures also capture the buzz of the centre itself. Remember the excitement of whizzing down the escalators or grabbing a bite to eat in one of the many cafes?

We’ve also included some photos of the shopping centre as it stands today. It’s fascinating to see how the shops have changed, reflecting the evolution of retail over the years. While some familiar names remain, like H Samuel, many have been replaced by new brands, showcasing how Fishergate has adapted to keep pace with the times.
