Fishergate Shopping Centre is here to help you make the very most of the season with a programme packed full of events that provide fun, laughter, and memory-making opportunities for the whole family! From animal encounters and comedy magic to hilarious characters and live entertainment, Fishergate’s Summer of Fun is a great reason to make your way into the city centre and enjoy something special during the school holidays.
With something happening almost every week, there’s certainly a lot to take in and keep track of so we’re here to give you a full guide that covers everything you can expect, helping you plan your visits more easily and enjoy as many magical moments as possible in the town centre.
Animal Club – Meet Amazing Creatures Up Close
If your children have a fascination with things furry and scaly, then you’ll definitely want to make a note of this event! Animal Club offers an interactive handling experience where children can meet and learn about rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, lizards, and other small companions. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the natural world up close in a safe, friendly environment, making it a real adventure for curious little minds.

• Thursday 14th August – 12:00-15:00.
• Thursday 21st August – 12:00-15:00.
Bread & Butter Theatre Company – Laugh Out Loud Theatre
Known across the UK for their quirky, family-friendly performances, the Bread & Butter Theatre Company specialises in interactive static and walkabout acts that turn everyday settings into stages full of silliness and surprise. With over two decades of experience, their characters are designed to entertain audiences with playful improvisation and colourful costumes.
Fishergate is delighted to welcome them as part of the Summer of Fun, and they’re bringing two fantastic acts to the shopping centre to keep children thoroughly entertained.
1. The Plant Pots
On the 26th July, you’ll get the chance to meet Gilbert and Norbert, the delightfully odd duo known as the Green Finger Folk, who are hoping to solve all your gardening woes. These oversized walking plant pots are full of charm, mischief, and interactive comedy. Expect cheeky conversations and blooming good laughs.

• Saturday 26th July – 12:00-15:00.
• Four 30-Minute Shows.
2. Dancing PE Teachers
The second act brings together Mr Stretch and Mr Armstrong, the retro 80s PE teachers who are on a mission to get the nation fit. With big energy and even bigger moves, they’ll bring their unique disco-infused fitness fun to the shopping centre for all to enjoy.

Funday Event Entertainment – Magic, Mayhem, and Laughter
We have even more fun characters coming to Fishergate this summer. You’ll be able to meet talented Taz, known for his amazing magic tricks and lively party dances, and you also have the chance to meet Scoop, whose fast-paced performances are engaging and full of variety.
1. Taz
Taz brings a combination of children’s comedy, magic tricks, and high-energy dancing to Fishergate. His shows are packed with audience interaction, non-stop silliness, and plenty of surprises to delight children. With two chances to catch him, he’s a must-see.

2. Scoop
Scoop is another one to watch, bringing with him his magic and juggling skills, as well as his comedy and exciting games. His lively personality and incredible talent also make for a fun-filled show that leaves attendees with plenty of smiles.

The Real Basil Brush – Fantastic Family Fun
Boom! Boom! The legendary Basil Brush is coming to Preston! With his cheeky humour and iconic wit, he’ll be making appearances throughout the day alongside his assistant. Expect jokes, stories, and the chance to ask him questions. This occasion is one for all ages, giving parents the chance to relive some childhood nostalgia and the chance for children to become better acquainted with another entertainment superstar.

Street Magic – Mystical Wanders
Prepare to be amazed by street magic that’s performed right under your nose. With card tricks, sleight of hand, and clever illusions, magician Luke Coburn will leave you wondering just how he did it! Great for all ages, this entertainment will also be interactive, surprising, and unforgettable.
