Emmaus Charity Appeal
Emmaus Launches Appeal for Unwanted Items
Fishergate Shopping Centre is proud to support businesses that not only serve the local community but also actively work to make a difference to those who are struggling, and that’s exactly what Emmaus is striving to do through their latest appeal.
The homelessness charity in Preston is calling for donations of unwanted furniture, clothing, vinyl, and bric-a-brac, encouraging the public to give their pre-loved items a second life whilst also supporting a vital cause.
The organisation has already made significant steps towards aiding the homeless, including setting up community homes that can accommodate up to 50 adults. Here, they have access to a safe, comfortable environment, as well as personal support and the chance to develop important life skills to help them improve their current situations. With your additional help, Emmaus can continue to keep up their exceptional work and keep on tackling the problem of homelessness in Preston.
Larger items such as sofas, tables, and wardrobes can be collected free of charge by booking a van online via the Emmaus website (https://emmaus.org.uk/preston/donate-goods/). Smaller items can be dropped off directly at the Emmaus Department Store at Fishergate Shopping Centre during regular opening hours (9am – 5pm Monday – Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sunday).
If you’ve been wanting to clear out your garage, wardrobe, or record collection, now is a great time to do so. You’ll be freeing up valuable space in your home, and you’ll be helping provide for those in need. Support a local charity and give your unwanted items a new home today!
