We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Fishergate Shopping Centre. As we are sure you will appreciate we have had to make some changes, which you will notice when shopping with us. The health and well- being of our customers and staff continues to be our top priority and we are working closely with our retailers to implement UK government shopping guidelines.

We have implemented clear and simple safe distancing guidelines, which will already be familiar to many of you if you have shopped in supermarkets in recent months.

We will be managing the number of customers allowed on the mall at one time to allow social distancing measures to be safely followed. It may be necessary to restrict access at entrances in the event the volume of customers in the centre exceeds the designated threshold.

We will reduce touch points as much as possible for your safety and wellbeing. Please note there will be no seating throughout the mall.

The cleaning team will be cleaning all touch point areas regularly and hand sanitising stations will be installed for you to use throughout the mall.

Our retailers will be operating their stores in line with their company policies and every store will have a queuing system for your safety, which we ask all customers to be mindful of. Some stores will be operating one-way entry and exit systems.

We ask that all procedures put in place by our retailers and teams are respectfully followed.

FAQs

Which entrances will be open for me to enter the shopping centre?

The main Fishergate and Butler Street entrances will be open, but the lift and escalator access from the car park to TK Maxx will be closed for the time being. Access to the Shopping Centre will be via the public steps to Butler Street where entry can be gained through the Butler Street entrance. At peak times we may need to limit customers through all entrances in order to maintain safe social distancing.

 

Will all stores be open?

All of our stores are now open, but please note trading hours may differ to normal. Please contact stores directly for further information prior to your visit to avoid disappointment. 

 

Can I return items to stores?

Please check with individual stores for returns policies prior to visiting. You can find contact details on our Stores page.

 

Will the toilets be open?

Public toilets will be closed for the foreseeable future until we can ensure the safety of our shoppers using these facilities. However, our parent and child facilities will be available with an enhanced level of cleaning.

 

Will the disabled toilets be open?

Disabled facilities will remain open accessible with a RADAR key.

 

Where can I find the hand sanitising stations?

Hand sanitser stations are located at each entrance to the centre and at other locations within the centre, including car park payment stations.

 

Will I be able to use the lifts and escalators?

There will only one up escalator operating in the centre between lower and middle mall. Customers will be asked to walk down the stairs. There will be no escalator access from the car park other than via TJ Hughes. The passenger lift in the atrium will not be operating and we ask customers to use the passenger lifts within Debenhams to travel between floors. We are asking that lifts be reserved for priority users, primarily those with a mobility disability or people with young children in prams or pushchairs.

 

Is the car park open as usual?

The north car park is open as usual. The south car park will remain closed for the immediate future.

 

How should I pay for parking?

Whilst you can still use card and contactless payments, we would encourage you to download the Glide Parking App on iPhone or Android which will allow you to pay for parking without using our payment machines. This is completely contactless and will eliminate the need to queue.

 

Can I visit with my family and/or friends?

We encourage customers to shop alone where possible in accordance with government guidelines.  If you do have your children with you we respectfully ask that they are supervised and that they also follow the social distancing guidelines.

 

Can I wear a face mask/face covering?

From Fri 24th July wearing a face covering became mandatory in the shopping centre and our stores. When visiting please do your part in helping to ensure everyone is safe by following Government guidelines & remembering to bring a mask with you.  Exemptions apply. Will I need to allow extra time for my visit?

Yes, we would advise that you do allow extra time. Depending on the volume of customers in the centre and stores, we may need to limit numbers and you may be expected to queue at busy times.
